Lead vocals - Shelly Quarmby
Shelly has a classically trained background in Singing and also studied performing arts. She has a BA (Hons) Degree in Music and Popular Music and has performed and recorded for coming up to 20 years! Shelly works as a vocalist for various bands and shows; she went from freelance studio session vocalist - working with various clients both live and in studio; singing advert jingles and recorded stage music, to backing vocalist for theatre shows and popular artists in the UK and Canada. She has performed in the UK, South Africa, Canada and the US.
Shelly teaches singing privately and conducts vocal workshops. She also performs her original music and has just released a new album. As a songwriter she co-writes with others and was selected onto BBC New Talent for songwriters. She currently tours with UK Theatre show ‘A Country Night In Nashville'.
Guitar - Tom Brookes
Our guitarist is Tom Brookes. Tom has been a professional musician for the past decade both as a teacher and a performer. He graduated with a music degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007 and has since become a regular performer in numerous acts both originals and covers. Aside from his work with Something Blues, Tom regularly plays lives in various Blues and acoustic acts. He lists his influences as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer and Pat Metheny.
Bass - Dave Lilley
On bass guitar is Dave Lilley. Dave is a graduate of Leeds College of Music. He has been playing live music in various forms for over 10 years. As well as his work with Something Blues, he regularly performs in theatre productions and with blues band Blue Cartel. His musical influences include Average White Band, New Mastersounds, Lionel Richie and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
